During his visit, Temesgen Tiruneh praised the workshop's impressive achievements. He expressed hope that Ethiopian teachers and trainees would make full use of this advanced technical training platform to bridge the gap in high-level skilled talent in Ethiopia's industry.

The Luban Workshop, located in Addis Ababa, where the African Union is headquartered, specializes in Artificial Intelligence. It integrates three undergraduate majors — manufacturing technology, electronics and communication technology, and electrical and control technology — and one postgraduate major in electrical automation and control technology management, offering academic education and technical training.

As of May 2024, the workshop had conducted 36 training programs and trained 1,661 local teachers and trainees. Its achievements have been recognized by various government levels and partner colleges in Ethiopia.

The Luban Workshop adopts the Engineering Practice and Innovation Project (EPIP) teaching mode and is equipped with world-class, industry-leading equipment, balancing the needs of both enterprise production and university-level teaching and training.

Ethiopian Labor and Skills State Minister Teshale Beracha, who serves as the chief expert of the certification and testing center, has been promoting the EPIP teaching mode. This initiative is expected to boost China-Africa capacity cooperation, contributing to the China-Africa Cooperation Vision 2035 and the African Union's 2063 Agenda.
