The book, edited by renowned documentary director Li Jiasen, showcases the development of the Luban Workshop project, China's flagship vocational training program, spearheaded by the Tianjin government in Asia, Africa, and Europe, with an eye on individuals and stories.
The Luban Workshops are named after Lu Ban (507-440 BC), a renowned Chinese carpenter, craftsman and engineer. They provide technical skills training for college students, enabling them to be market-ready upon graduation.
This book is the literary version of the documentary of the same name. Li Jiasen's studio spent five years filming and documenting. With the assistance of the editorial and creative team from Tianjin Science and Technology Press, the most exquisite visuals and texts from the documentary were reprocessed and compiled into a book.
The content is presented in both Chinese and English. It captures emotions and experiences through page-by-page images, vividly narrating the craftsmanship spirt and a common dream of vocational educators worldwide.
