On the 7th anniversary of Luban Workshop in Thailand, Mayuree Sriraboot, principal of Ayutthaya Technical College in Thailand, the support unit of the project, was awarded the 2023 Tianjin Haihe Friendship Award.

Mayuree Sriraboot actively participated in Tianjin's vocational education research and international cooperation and exchanges, and has made outstanding contributions.

During her tenure, Luban Workshop in Thailand was approved as the first operational project and passed evaluation and acceptance from the Ministry of Education of China with excellent results.

In the past three years, the Luban Workshop at Ayutthaya Technical College has trained 447 local students, trained more than 7,200 teachers and students, and sent 122 students to study in Tianjin. It organized 197 students to participate in "Looking at the Craftsmen of the Nation from Luban Lock", the Chinese Bridge online exchange program under the Ministry of Education of China.

Beyond the daily operations, the principal attaches great importance to the international relationship between China and Thailand, applying for the Princess Sirindhorn Award for China's Tianjin Bohai Vocational Technology College.

She has advocated for Tianjin's vocational education at important international conferences. At the Belt and Road Cooperation and Luban Workshop Construction and Development Forum of the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, she reviewed the achievements of the Luban Workshop in Thailand. She emphasized her commitment to fostering cultural exchanges between China and Thailand and further expanding the people-to-people role of Luban Workshop in Thailand.

As an expert of the International Education Alliance of the Engineering Practice Innovation Project (EPIP), she has visited China many times to participate in forums and deliver keynote speeches introducing the remarkable results of promoting Tianjin's vocational education in Thailand.

She has also taken responsibility for the EPIP Teaching Research Center in Thailand, and carried out the Thai localization research of "EPIP Teaching Model". This effort involved a translation of more than 200,000 words and assisted in publishing books on Chinese vocational education concepts in Thailand. Moreover, she has published academic papers in Thai journals to promote Luban Workshop and Tianjin's vocational education.

She actively facilitated Tianjin enterprises and high-quality teaching equipment to be used in Thailand. She helped a Tianjin-based new energy vehicle enterprise become an official partner in Ayutthaya, Thailand. She also introduced the Tianjin-produced "high-speed rail standard EMU brake training device" in  Thailand for training purposes, achieving a transaction volume of $1.45 million.

Based on this, she led the Thai Luban Workshop R&D Center to develop Thailand's national standards for high-speed rail-related competitions, making it the first designated equipment in Thailand's vocational college skills competitions.

In addition, she convened six vocational colleges in Thailand and two vocational colleges in China to jointly establish the Sino-Thai vocational education community. This initiative aims to promote the students' concept of environmental protection.

The Haihe Friendship Award is the highest honor awarded by the Tianjin Municipal Government to commend foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to Tianjin's economic development and social progress. Since its inception in 2006, this award has been presented annually, honoring 10 foreign experts each time.
