Luban Workshop, a bridge of cooperation and mutual intellectual learning

Lu Ban, a model of ancient Chinese craftsmanship spirit, is industrious, wise, pragmatic and innovative.

In 2016, the Luban Workshop, born in Tianjin, headed out in the world along "The Belt and Road". It emerged as a cradle for the cultivation of high-quality technical talents, and an important platform for the export of Chinese technology, equipment and quality.

The Luban Workshop has established itself as a national project to serve diplomatic interests. Together with the leaders of the two countries witnessed the signing ceremony of the Luban Workshop in Portugal.

Today, Chinese-made high-tech training equipment and the Chinese vocational education teaching model have been integrated into the local school system.

As a significant outcome of the implementation of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism, the Luban Workshop in Cambodia adopted China's vocational education curriculum system and has trained thousands of teachers and students from in just four years, establishing a coherent "secondary, higher, and undergraduate" training model.

The Luban Workshop in Thailand, the first of its kind in the world, has provided exchange and training opportunities for more than 8,000 teachers and students from vocational institutions in ASEAN countries. Sixteen of whom have won medals in skill contests, making it an essential platform for exchanges and gaining experience in vocational education in ASEAN countries.

In Djibouti, Africa, the Luban Workshop has contributed to the vocational dreams of local youths. President Guelleh complimented the Luban Workshop for innovating vocational education in Djibouti and filling the gap in the country's specialized education. The countries participating in the co-construction project are moving closer and closer towards reaching a consensus on the following: "Equal cooperation, prioritizing  quality, the integration of industry and education, localization, co-contribution and sharing."

Today, 20 Luban Workshops have been established in 19 countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa, and 12 professional standards have been validated by partner nations and entered their national education systems, as well as their national vocational certification system. Tomorrow, the Luban Workshops will begin to take root in South America and the Pacific Island Countries.

Heaven and earth are bounded, yet friendship is boundless. The Luban Workshop is developing into a shining messenger of a community with a shared future for mankind, while simultaneously building a warm bridge of cooperation, exchange and mutual intellectual learning.
