The India Luban Workshop celebrates 5th anniversary

Yang Xiuhua, education counselor of the Chinese Embassy in India, led a delegation that visited the India Luban Workshop on Dec 8, 2022, the date of its fifth anniversary.

A commemoration was held online and on site in venues such as the  Chennai Institute of Technology in India, Tianjin Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, and the Tianjin Vocational College of Mechanics and Electricity in China.

Researcher Yang Yan, head of the Tianjin Luban Workshop Research and Promotion Center, pointed out that the workshop took the lead in introducing a new model of school-enterprise cooperation. It has achieved remarkable results in personnel training and Sino-Indian cultural exchanges.

Shriram, the principal of Chennai Institute of Technology in India, noted that students of Chennai Institute of Technology have not only acquired vocational skills through the workshop, but also spent time on job placements in many companies. He said the two countries  should continue to strengthen cooperation through exchange programs.

Counselor Yang Xiuhua, in his speech, pointed out that the Luban Workshop in India is an important manifestation of the achievements in vocational education in both China and India. It also shows strengthening cooperation  between the two countries.

Yang also said the embassy will provide more support for the construction of Luban Workshops. It is hoped that the cooperation will deepen under the framework of the BRICS Vocational Education Alliance and the consensus of the World Vocational Education Conference.

Colleges in China and India exchanged views on existing issues within the Luban Workshop and agreed to conduct mutual visits in the future.
