China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), the management unit of the Luban Workshop Construction Alliance, initiated the application and certification for operational projects in April 2022, to promote high-quality construction and sustainable development of Luban Workshop.

This move also aims to standardize the management and to build the Luban Workshop brand.

Focused on the positioning and core elements of Luban Workshop, CEAIE evaluated the projects in a comprehensive way, based on indicators such as positioning, purpose, running foundation, site construction, teaching staff, teaching resources, school-enterprise cooperation, and running effectiveness.

Overseas Luban workshop operational projects of five colleges in China have been approved. Among them, the Ningbo Polytechnic (NBPT) Benin Luban Workshop was on the list.

The Benin Luban Workshop was built on the basis of the pre-construction of the China-Africa (Benin) Vocational and Technical Education College.

Since 2014, Ningbo Polytechnic (NBPT) has explored overseas education through school-enterprise cooperation in Benin. It built the first vocational college in Cotonou, capital of Benin. Ningbo Polytechnic becomes the first vocational college in Zhejiang province that set up its overseas school.

Up to now, the school has sent 30 professional teachers and administrative staff to Benin, benefiting more than 800 Africans. It helps train local people for economic development and overseas operations of Chinese-funded enterprises. It also attracted more than 60 international students from Benin and neighboring countries to study in China, and carried out capacity building training for vocational education teachers in Benin.
