Russia Luban Workshop concludes training session

Tianjin Electronic Information College (TEIC) and Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) held an online graduation ceremony for Russia Luban Workshop faculty on Dec 15.

The faculty's online training, which lasted for 20 days, invited experts from Chinese tech heavyweight Huawei Technologies Co to teach Russian participants about the telecommunication and network industries.

During the ceremony, seven Russian teachers received graduation certificates.

Yuriy Milanov, head of the Department of Network Information at the MTUCI, noted that both sides have worked together to ensure the completion of the internet-based training session amid the ongoing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Russia is in urgent need of 5G technology professionals, Milanov said, adding that the Luban Workshop program has played a vital role in promoting exchanges in vocational education and advanced telecommunication and in assisting Russia to cultivate high-quality talents.

Qian Guoliang, a teacher from TEIC, said training on LTE (long-term evolution) and the Internet of Things has broadened the trainees’ horizons and enhanced their competence in telecommunication and network technology.

Qian stressed that TEIC is willing to work closely with MTUCI to ensure sustainable and high-quality development of the Russian Luban Workshop.
