This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan.

During the period, Tianjin will embark on a new development effort to its grand new chapter of building a modern socialist metropolis and create a scheme of "twin towns"-namely the downtown and the coastal town area.

We released the series of Tianjin Insight, which presents a panoramic view of the port city's evolution and achievements via lens of expats in the city.

This episode is about Handiso Selamu Yisihak, an Ethiopian who came to Tianjin in 2019. He loves city's green areas, weather, and people.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in artificial intelligence and industrial robotics in Tianjin.

He said foreign students are treated fairly, enjoying the same resources as Chinese students. Practical sessions set immediately after learning theories have benefited him greatly in mastering new knowledge.

He thinks that the current cooperation Ethiopia has with his university in telemetry, robotics, mechatronics and sensor technology is essential to the country's development and is also needed by all African countries.

He said Luban Workshop, a worldwide training program for technical personnel initiated by Tianjin, has provided well-educated experience and talented people who are urgently needed in Africa.
