The Portugal Luban Workshop, which was built by Tianjin Vocational College of Mechanics and Electricity, was launched in the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal), on Dec 6, 2018. It is the second Luban workshop set up in Europe after the one in the United Kingdom.

The Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal is a university of applied technology offering bachelor and master degrees. Located in the university's main teaching building, the Portugal Luban Workshop covers an area of 650 square meters and is equipped with 16 sets of world-leading machinery and equipment.

The equipment includes the competence source innovation curriculum kit, modern electrical control systems, automatic production line installation and debugging equipment, industrial robots and intelligent vision systems, and drug filling production lines. To date, they are the highest-level equipment Tianjin has equipped for Luban workshops built overseas, and also the equipment used closely with modern advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence technology.

In addition, as typical equipment used in real production, they are chosen from vocational college skills competitions in China as well as the world vocational skills competitions due to their high quality.

The Luban Workshop in Portugal is the second workshop built overseas by Tianjin Vocational College of Mechanics and Electricity following the construction of the Luban workshop in India in December 2017.
