An online opening ceremony of Nigeria Luban Workshop took place simultaneously at the Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences in Tianjin City, China and University of Abuja, Nigeria on Nov 27, 2020.

The Nigeria Luban Workshop, covering an area of 800 square meters, was established by Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences in University of AbujaIt. It is specialized in communication engineering and power system automation, and offers education in the majors of electrical and electronic engineering. 

The workshop established four professional laboratories in electrical and electronic engineering, communication engineering, electrical and electronics innovation, and power system automation. The laboratories were equipped with 71 sets of professional teaching auxiliary equipment worth 5 million yuan ($766,000). 

The workshop teachers developed ten bilingual teaching resource libraries, and completed technical skill trainings to teachers of University of Abuja.

In addition, China's Tianjin Railway Vocation and Technical College established a Railway Education Center at University of Abuja. The center covers an area of 180 square meters and has two majors of mechanical engineering (vehicle engineering, transportation) and civil engineering (railway engineering). Its three laboratories in vehicle engineering, operation management, and railway bridge and tunnel comprehensive were established with 132 sets of equipment worth 1.1 million yuan ($175,000). 

The Railway Training Center was built through cooperation with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation's Nigeria subsidiary It has three training rooms and one outdoor training field, covering an area of 1,600 square meters and equipped with 120 sets of equipment worth 4.6 million yuan ($716,000). 

Moreover, the workshop has compiled 12 bilingual textbooks and developed six curriculum standards.
