Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, established in 1988, was approved by the State Council in 1991 to become one of the first national high-tech zones, positioned as a world-class high-tech park, focusing on the layout of new-generation information technology, biomedicine, new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing and modern service industries.

Tianjin Dongjiang Free-Trade Port Zone, established in 2006, is positioned as the core functional area of the northern international shipping center and international logistics center, the national leasing innovation demonstration zone, and the national import trade promotion innovation demonstration zone, focusing on the layout of financial leasing, online freight, commercial factoring, platform economy and port-adapted industries.

China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, established in 2008, is a major strategic cooperation project between the Chinese and Singaporean governments and the world's first eco-city developed through international cooperation, positioned as a national green development demonstration zone, focusing on the layout of intelligent technology, cultural tourism, medical health, green buildings and green high-end manufacturing industries.
