1. Beitang: the birthplace of the Jiyun River

(1) Rich in history, with a vibrant spirit.

Beitang has a history of over 600 years and has attached great importance to education. It was home to 44 private schools and produced 120 successful candidates in the imperial examination in ancient times. Many renowned figures emerged from Beitang, including Ven. Tanxu, known as the "Little Sakyamuni," Chen Hongyi, an imperial censor of the Qing Dynasty, Li Yuanhong, the president of the Republic of China, and Li Senmao, the first Minister of Railways of the People's Republic of China. Beitang has also witnessed significant historical events such as the Opium War, the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, and the Boxer Rebellion.

(2) Riverside and Seaside: An Ecological City

Beitang is located between the main urban area and the green ecological barrier, presenting a spatial pattern that combines urban living in the south with natural ecology in the north. It boasts natural attractions such as the Beisan River Suburban Park, Beitang Reservoir, and Qilihai Wetland. Beitang Fishing Port is the largest fishing port in Tianjin, and Tanggu Forest Park is the largest ecological greening project in the Binhai New Area. Sanhe Island, located at the confluence of Yongdingxin River, Chaobai River, and Jiyun River, is the only island in Tianjin listed in the Chinese Island Gazetteer. The Beidagang Wetland, Qilihai Wetland, and Ningchegu area serve as migration and habitat sites for over 200 bird species.

2. Integration of Industry and City: A Demonstration Zone

(1) Comprehensive Facilities and Convenient Living

Beitang has 13 kindergartens and 6 primary and secondary schools. Tianjin Binhai Cancer Hospital and Tianjin Binhai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine have settled in Beitang, contributing to the improvement of living facilities.

(2) Developed Transportation and Connectivity

Beitang enjoys significant transportation advantages. It benefits from both internal coordination within the Binhai New Area and the coastal economic corridor. The road network has formed a "six horizontal and five vertical" transportation network, and the construction of rail transit lines such as Z2, Z4, and B1 has greatly promoted regional transportation coordination and industrial integration.

(3) Synergistic Industries and Complementary Advantages

Relying on the Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park, with a focus on intelligent technology, new energy and materials, and life and health, supported by the technology services industry, the "3+1" industrial system is being developed. It extends towards the development of intelligent manufacturing, productive services, and new economy industries, achieving mutual sharing and complementary development with the Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park.

3. Clear Industry Planning for Development

(1) Modern Urban Agriculture and Fisheries

In 2021, the National Demonstration Zone for Freshwater Fish in Tianjin and the National Blue Grain Warehouse Technological Innovation Project Demonstration Base both chose to settle in the Ningchegu area of Beitang Subdistrict. In the future, Beitang Subdistrict will leverage the development of two major industrial bases to establish a specialized agricultural production base. This base will primarily focus on cultivating 10,000 mu of rice, breeding 10,000 mu of fish, and raising 10,000 mu of prawns, forming a distinctive agricultural landscape in the region.

(2) Health, Wellness, Tourism, and Leisure Industry

Promoting comprehensive rural revitalization, Beitang Subdistrict has established a strategic partnership with Ctrip Group. It is actively developing the classic tourism route of "Boat Sightseeing - Immersive Agricultural Experience in Ningchegu - Rare Bird Observation Base" in Beitang, aiming to build Beitang into an ecological garden in the beautiful coastal city, serving as a leisure and wellness destination for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

(3) Productive and Lifestyle Services

In conjunction with the establishment of Ctrip Group's "Three Centers," efforts are being made to create a number of production and lifestyle supporting facilities, including Rainbow Square, and others.
