Dagang Subdistrict was established on December 30, 2013, as a result of the merger of Yingbin Subdistrict and Shengli Subdistrict. It is located in the southern part of Binhai New Area (formerly the central urban area of Dagang). The Subdistrict covers a total area of 46 square kilometers and has a population of over 210,000 people residing in more than 60,000 households. There are 34 community neighborhood committees and 44 natural residential areas within the Subdistrict. The area is home to large state-owned enterprises such as China Tianjin Petrochemical Corporation, SINOPEC SABIC TianJin Petrochemical Company Li, and SINOPEC Fouth Construction Co.,Ltd. It also accommodates academic institutions and professional education training centers like Nankai University Binhai College and Binhai School of Foreign Affairs of Tianjin Foreign Studies University. 

There are eight secondary schools, seven primary schools, ten kindergartens, six hospitals, ten banks, six military units, and hundreds of commercial establishments including shopping centers, restaurants, logistics companies, electronic stores, and automobile dealerships. There are distinctive attractions and architectural landmarks such as Linchao Lake, Wanghai Mountain, Dagang Park, and Dagang Grand Theater. The Subdistrict benefits from excellent transportation, a thriving commercial sector, and a densely populated area, establishing it as a vital hub for commerce and culture in the southern region of Binhai New Area.
