National Maritime Museum of China
As China's first national maritime museum in the harbor city of Tianjin, the museum provides a visual feast for ocean lovers around the globe, as well as abundant materials for China's maritime research and protection.
Covering an area of 150,000 square meters, the three-story museum has been dubbed the "ocean version of China's Palace Museum," as its 23,000-square-meter exhibition hall covers a wide range of themes including marine ecology and environment, science education and interactive programs, as well as Chinese maritime culture and history.
Featuring countless life-size models of ancient marine animals, precious fossils and cultural relics, the museum aims to provide its audience a comprehensive understanding of the abundance of China's ocean resources. Historical records documenting ancient Chinese exploration of the oceans are also included in the museum's collection, showing China's long history as a leading maritime power.
In addition to an extensive collection of maritime materials, cutting-edge technologies have also been used to help the visitors have a better understanding of ocean ecology. Smart encyclopedia and online searching systems enable visitors to acquire specific information about sea life, while an AI-controlled lighting system and VR equipment provide the audience with an immersive experience into the deep ocean.

The six-floor facility, with a total floor space of 33,700 square meters, was designed by Dutch architectural firm MVRDV, based in Rotterdam, along with the local Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute.
The library features floor-to-ceiling terraced bookshelves able to store 1.2 million books, and a large, luminous sphere in the center that serves as an auditorium with a capacity for 110 people. The library is nicknamed "the eye" because of its sphere, which looks like a giant iris and can be seen from the park outside through an eye-shaped opening.
The first and second floors mainly feature lounge areas and reading rooms. The floors above have computer rooms, meeting rooms and offices. There are also two rooftop terraces.
Tianjin Haichang Polar Sea World
Tianjin Haichang Polar Sea World is currently the largest polar and sea animal park presenting the widest range of animals to visitors. It is composed of nine major areas including polar animal area, sea animal area, undersea area, sea without water area, coral area, jellyfish area, scientific interactive area, and the happy theater. Visitors will find more than 130 large Arctic and Antarctic animals as well as other 30,000 ocean creatures, for example beluga, dolphin, polar bear, penguin, and Arctic fox and wolf.

Ticket Price: 130 yuan for adults; free for children who are less than 1.2 meters in height; 70 yuan for children whose heights are between 1.2 and 1.4 meters; 70 yuan for senior people over 65 years old with valid senior card or ID; 70 yuan for handicapped people with valid certificate of disability.

Tianjin Port has the largest port museum in China. It also has the largest artificial peninsula In China, spectacular bulk cargoes, Asia’s largest home port, and the only artificial beach,-Dongjiang Port Artificial Beach, in the Beijing-Tianjin region. The beach is also the largest one in China with many activities including speedboating, motorboating, pneumatic boating, airboating as well as windsurfing and traditional surfing.

Ticket Price: 50 yuan per visitor from May 1 to October 9. 25 yuan per visitor for the rest of the year. 40 yuan per visitor if tickets are booked as a group of or more than 15 members. 60-70 years old senior people, students, children who are between 1.2 and 1.4 meters in height, and military personnel with valid ID can enjoy a 50 percent discount. Tickets are free for people over 70 years old and children who are short than 1.2 meters.

Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park is a large military theme park constructed around the Kiev Aircraft Carrier providing a chance for visitors to gain military knowledge and fun facts while playing games and having fun. Visitors can gain a real Navy military and technology experience on Kiev by getting a close look at the command center, intelligence room as well as the science and technology museum of the aircraft carrier.
In 2011, the Tianjin Pavilion, once the set in the Shanghai Expo 2010, was rebuilt in Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park to present to the visitors the history, features, and the harmonious development in Tianjin and Tianjin Binhai New Area. Visitors will still find Dalong post stamps, train cinema, Tasly Health detector, and environment friendly statues etc as well as programs aimed at demonstrating the latest development and future prospect of Tianjin.
