Ahead of the National Day holiday, the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism launched a monthlong cultural promotion campaign in Beijing on Sept 22.

A total of 12 representative intangible cultural heritage items from Tianjin, including the Clay Figurine Zhang craft and Yangliuqing New Year paintings, are being exhibited at the Gongmei building in Wangfujing, one of downtown Beijing's bustling commercial areas.

The cultural heritage items are part of the exhibition at Yuxun Jingxi, a brick-and-mortar store of Yuxun, a brand established in 2023 by Beijing Gongmei Group to engage younger consumers.

The exhibition is a key part of Tianjin's autumn tourism promotional strategy for 2025 and aims to systematically present the inheritance and innovation of Tianjin's ICH traditions to Beijing residents.

Inheritors offer on-site demonstrations of these traditions and give visitors the opportunity to try their hand at painting Clay Figurine Zhang sculptures and printing Yangliuqing woodblock New Year paintings.

"We hope this event will encourage more Beijing residents to discover and experience the unique cultural charm of Tianjin," said Duan Tiyu, chairman of Beijing Gongmei Group.
