The commercial logistics development index of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region reached 52.17 percent in the first quarter of this year, marking a year-on-year growth of 0.15 percent.

The data, released on Sunday in Langfang, Hebei province, signals sustained expansion in the region's logistics sector, according to a report by Chinanews.com on Monday.

Jointly compiled by the Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce, the China Logistics Information Center, and the Hebei Province Association of Modernistic Logistics, the index uses 50 percent as the threshold for economic expansion.

The 2024 annual index stood at 52.29 percent, a 0.17-point increase from 2023.

Xiao Mingjian, vice-president of the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing and head of the Hebei Province Association of Modernistic Logistics, said the index reflects the sector's "steady growth, resilience and potential" in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, underscoring stable regional logistics operations.

The index was unveiled at the National AAAAA-Level Logistics Enterprises High-Quality Development Conference, part of the ongoing 2025 China Langfang International Economic and Trade Fair, which will end on Friday.

As the country's key exhibition themed on modern commerce and logistics, the fair advances Hebei's role as an "important base for modern commerce and logistics across the country" under the outline of the coordinated development plan for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
