Professor Hua Yan, the Party chief of Tianjin Medical University and a prominent leader in the field of ophthalmology, recently led a delegation to Indonesia for cooperation and exchange with Udayana University and University Hospital. A strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed.

 Professor Hua Yan is a world-renowned expert in the field of ophthalmology and has been engaged in clinical and basic research on vitreoretinal diseases and ocular trauma for a long time. He is a pioneer in clinical and basic research in the field of ocular trauma and in vitreoretinal surgery for the treatment of complex fundus diseases.

The president of Udayana University and the heads of relevant departments of the university attended the signing ceremony and discussed future cooperation initiatives.

The two sides agreed to enhance international cooperation and exchanges in the field of ophthalmology in the future, focusing on new technologies for clinical diagnosis and treatment of diseases, training, continuing education, eye disease prevention and control, and academic exchanges to support the ophthalmology department of Udayana University Hospital.

Professor Hua Yan emphasized that he will lead his team to Udayana University from time to time to conduct academic lectures and public welfare activities such as surgical treatment, an effort for practicing the call of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The president of Udayana University said that this signing will provide a very good opportunity for the prevention and treatment of eye diseases in the future, and Udayana University will do its best to support the cooperation. He also extended wishes that through close cooperation, it will drive the general improvement of the ophthalmology of the other countries involved in the BRI, and also bring breakthrough progress to the overall level of ophthalmology of Udayana University.
