As Spring Festival draws near, Tianjin held a festive tea party for over 70 foreign experts from 20 of the city’s companies and institutions, including Nankai and Tianjin universities.

During the party, foreign talents delivered various performances, including playing the guitar and piano, singing, and folk dancing. Activities, such as performances of traditional Chinese musical instruments and Peking Opera, experiencing Spring Festival customs, and prize-winning competitions were also included to create an immersive festive aura.

Yuan Ying, deputy head of the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, briefed attendees on the city’s achievements in science and technological innovation and overseas talent introduction.

Up to now, a total of 293 foreign talents in Tianjin have won the Haihe Friendship Award, and 45 foreign talents have won the Friendship Award of the Chinese government, the highest laurel for foreign experts who have made outstanding contribution to China's modernization and reform and opening-up.

The bureau has organized a series of activities, such as the Tianjin in My Eyes photography contest and visiting the city’s foreign experts, to better help foreign talent integrate into local life.
