Farmers in Huayuan village in Jinghai district, Tianjin, are busy harvesting and storing this year's wheat harvest.

Jointly initiated by local women's federation and agriculture and rural committee, women and their families have attended wheat-harvesting activities in the village.

Activities such as visiting farms, reciting poetry, and learning how to grow wheat are aimed at strengthening women’s role in food security and helping them actively participate in food production and rural vitalization.

Wearing caps and rolling up their sleeves, children were in full momentum, experiencing a mix of fun and toil brought by farming. Parent Liu Xuemin said, "My child rarely has access to farmland. He doesn't know how grain grows, and it is difficult for him to appreciate the hard work of farming. Today's activity has taught him to cherish and save food."

Du Shaoying, head of the women's federation of Liangtou town, said: "We will give full play to our own advantages, publicize the importance and related knowledge of food security and mobilize the public to start from themselves, so as to promote good practices and social atmosphere.”
