This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan.

During this period, Tianjin will embark on new development efforts in its grand new chapter of building a modern socialist metropolis and create a scheme of "twin towns"-namely the downtown and coastal town areas.

We released the series of Tianjin Insight, which presents a panoramic view of the port city’s evolution and achievements through the eyes of expats living in the city.

This episode focuses on Nadya Aranda from Colombia.

Through the Chinese government, she applied to come to Tianjin to study for a master’s degree in English education and literature at Tianjin Foreign Studies University in 2019.

She enjoyed life as a foreign student - taking calligraphy classes, learning about Peking Opera, and attending campus activities. She explored the dynamic modern metropolis and visited its museums, natural parks, trade centers and tourist areas by bike and metro. She also took the high-speed train to explore areas beyond the city.

During the epidemic outbreak, she learned how to shop online and got her COVID-19 vaccine.

She plans to stay in Tianjin and become a college teacher teaching Spanish after graduation. She hopes to connect China and Colombia and become a bridge for mutual friendly exchanges.
