This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan.

During this period, Tianjin will embark on new development efforts in its grand new chapter of building a modern socialist metropolis and create a scheme of "twin towns"-namely the downtown and coastal town areas.

We released the series of Tianjin Insight, which presents a panoramic view of the port city’s evolution and achievements through the eyes of expats living in the city.

This episode explores the experience of Kenji Takahashi, chief representative of the Liaison Office for Kobe-Tianjin Trade-Economic Exchanges.

For him, the traditional port city of Tianjin is a mix of old and new, tradition and modernization, which is shared by the city of Kobe. He expressed enjoy in cruising Haihe River at night and visiting Ancient Cultural Street.

He applauds Tianjin’s "twin towns" plan in the 14th Five-Year Plan. He also talks about the connection created by Premier Zhou Enlai, who went to Japan and stayed in Kobe after graduating from Tianjin.

He said he will continue to make efforts to facilitate two cities’ cooperation in healthcare, ICT, port communication and other economic areas, as well as make new contributions to development and residents' lives in both cities and create more breakthroughs.
