The Binhai High-tech Area has pursued progress while ensuring stability in the first half of the year, with growing investment and more projects settling in the area. Between January and June of this year, the regional GDP of the area reached 28.86 billion yuan($4.47 billion), an increase of 11.1 percent year-on-year.

A total of 23 key projects have been introduced focusing on basic hardware, software systems, information services and security.

The area also features a cell industry, with over 30 related enterprises forming a whole chain of cell extraction, storage, quality control inspection, cold chain logistics, as well as research, development, and production.

The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences signed a contract to transform science research and form industrial clusters within the area. Juventas, located in the area, has completed its C round of financing and is now licensed to produce medicine.
