Tianjin's Italian Style Area, with a history of 119 years and more than 100 Italian-style villas, will re-open to the public on May 1 after a major renovation.
More decorations and sculptures in the Italian style will be presented, surrounding a 1.55-square-kilometer area in the city's Hebei district.
There will be a naked-eye 3D light show on the outer wall of the Tianjin Planning Exhibition Hall, covering an area of about 800 square meters, as well as in the central area of Marco Polo Square, which has a concentration of restaurants, shops and well-preserved architecture.
Some interactive entertainment activities will be held for visitors, and bands have been invited to perform during the coming holiday.
The Deyun Club, a renowned cross-talk club with its founder Guo Degang born in Tianjin, announced its first locally based theater, which will also open during the holiday at the newly decorated Democracy Theater, a famous venue dating back more than 100 years.
Guo thrived and opened Deyun Club in 1996 in Beijing and based its major performance in a theater in Tianqiao.
